- ✔ STAINLESS STEEL GAS SPRINGS - The gas springs used in our ELITE series are 316L Stainless steel (brushed silver in color). The end fittings used are designed specifically for each application. Gas spring orientation is always body end up (large tube attaching to hood) and extending rod attaching to lower ball stud.
